OUR ADVISORS

MR. HAYES
Student Council Advisor
Allow me to introduce myself: a proud Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada native who traded hockey sticks for paintbrushes and running shoes. After scoring a full track scholarship to Graceland University in Iowa, I earned degrees in Visual Arts and Art Education, and I've spent the last 18 years molding future Picassos. When I'm not passionately cheering for Michigan Football and the Golden Knights, you can find me out on a run or wrangling my kids, Charlie and Ollie, alongside our gentle giant, Moose the German Shepherd, our ancient Dachshund, Manny, and one very grouchy cat, Jim Hailball. And let’s not forget my incredible wife, Debbie, who’s busy making waves in the non-profit and education scene in Southern Nevada. Together, we're a family that believes in creativity, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun!

MS. SAQUIDO
Student Council Advisor
Hi StuCo Family! I’m Ms. Saquido, and I’m so excited to be the new DO Student Council advisor alongside Mr. Hayes! Before joining the Diamondback family, I taught English, Leadership, and Yearbook at Canarelli Middle School. I was born in the suburbs of Chicago but I grew up right here in southwest Las Vegas and was a StuCo girly at our neighbor/rival high schools (Vista & SWCTA). I am a UNLV alum with degrees in Secondary Education and English--Go Rebels! I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Marco, and we have two adorable black pugs named Milo and Moxy. When I'm not at school, you can find me shopping or spending time with friends and family. I can’t wait to bring fresh ideas, school spirit, and lots of energy to Student Council this year!
